BrikStar MAGNUM briquetting press is manufactured with 20 years of BRIKLIS experience and the customers demand to manufacture of square shaped briquettes on a press made in Czech Republic. It is designed for medium to large plants with single-shift or multi-shift operation.

It has a compact design, modern control, reliable hydraulic pressing device, which enables the maximum compaction of material. For continuous operation, the press is equipped with an oil cooler within standard equipment. Automatic regulation of the quality of briquettes and the dispensing screw minimize fluctuation of power for pressing materials from fine to rough ones. The minimum level sensor controls the automatic start and stop of the machine, and so eliminates useless operation of the press.

The press design produces big block-shaped briquettes that can reach more than 1000 kg/m3. And so the briquettes meet the standard DIN 51731. The pressing cylinder creates a pressure up to 1200 bar on the material in the die. The 700mm long die is cooled and so the optimum pressing conditions (for pressing without added binder) and quality of briquettes are guaranteed. For certain materials the press shall be equipped with a 1.5 m long vibration damper, which extends the pressing force. The hopper of the press of bearing capacity of 1200 kg has a solid structure from hollow sections. The foot of the hoper are ready for installation of a high-capacity filtration unit.

Materials for pressing without binders

Materials for pressing should meet these conditions: moisture content from 8 to 15%, dimensions smaller than 15 mm and bulk density of at least 70 kg/m3

  • sawdust, shavings and dust from all kinds of wood including tropical ones
  • rape and grain straw, crushed power plants, flax and hemp awn
  • waste from seed cleaners, poppy-seed material
  • crushed paper, paper dust
  • textile dust and short fibres
  • industrial high-volume or dust waste from exhaust systems
  • polyurethane, some types of composite plastics

Other materials can be exposed to a performance test, which is performed by the BRIKLIS personnel in the BRIKLIS test room free of charge.

Briquette properties

The briquettes in form of a block of dimensions 135 x 65 x 80 – 100 mm with heating value 15 to 18 MJ/kg can be combusted in all types of stoves, boilers and incinerators for combustion of solid fuels. The block shaped briquettes are optimal for packaging. The briquettes are packed up in PE bags or paper bags by 10 kg. The bags are easily placed on a pallet, and fixed by a stretch foil.

The volume of waste is decreased eight times by briquetting, and so the transport and storage are cheaper. Big benefit of the briquetting presses is the usage of wastes and the reduction of the dust in plants.

Press capacity of up to 500 kg/hour requires continuous supply of big amount of material of approx. 5 m3 per hour. The press output per hour depends on specific weight of the processed material. Heavier materials, such as saw dust, are dosed more quickly, and so the time necessary for production of one briquette is shorter, and the output is higher.
