Briquetting presses iSwarf
Presses iSwarf are economical machines with low power consumption. They process chips from machining steel, cast iron and non-ferrous metals particularly aluminium. The standard range
of presses iSwarf is large and offers many variants of throughputs and equipments. The combination of hydraulic pump motor input ranging from 4 kW to 15 kW and the diameter of the pressing tools from 55 mm do 100 mm resolves the requirement for the briquettes quality and the throughput of the briquetting press. The advantage of the briquetting press iSwarf is the use of the patented
hydraulic system construction which enables very easily to increase the pressing power in case of increased production. The hopper type can be selected with respect to the material and the way of connection to the technological line. Thanks to their modular construction the presses iSwarf can fulfil the most demanding requirements for operation automation and other technology equipment.
Presses iSwarf are best of all fed by material directly from an existing system of transport of chips from machining centres. It is also possibly to fill the system manually or through a lifting device which dumps chips from containers into the press hopper. Briquettes are extruded from the press with a single conducting system to a height of 940 mm to the packaging place.
Materials for pressing
- aluminium chips
- magnesium chips
- titanium chips
- steel chips
- cast iron chips
Regards to very different properties of alloys – metals above, it is necessary to verify material suitability for briquetting, and at the same time the material can be exposed to performance test, which is performed by the BRIKLIS personnel in the BRIKLIS test room free of charge.
Briquette properties
The briquettes have a shape of cylinder of diameter according pressing tools from 55 to 100 mm, average length is the same like diameter.
Specific weight of aluminium chip briquette is from 2,000 to 2,200 kg/m3.
Standard equipment
- Hopper in 3 variants with a dosing screw
- Briquette guiding in form of a trough or conveyour for transport of the briquettes into a container
- Oil cooler for an uninterrupted operation
- Control panel with display

Economic benefit and main advantages in the usage of briquetting presses
- Raw material saving in the foundry
- Saving of cooling oil that otherwise leaves the plant with unprocessed chips
- Possible return on investment in months
- High quality of briquettes, low residual moisture content
- Profit from the sale of briquettes
- Reduction of responsibility for possible contamination of the environment
- Reduction of costs for the handling and storage of contaminated chips
- Minimum demands on operators if a large-volume hopper is used
- Optimization of investment costs thanks to the possibility to choice from a wide range of outputs
Big benefit of the briquetting presses is the possibility of recycling costly raw materials. Chips arising in aluminium machining are pressed in metal briquettes of a defined shape. Briquette melting produces more molten metal than melting of bulk chips. Furthermore, during the pressing the cooling oil, that used to leave the press together with unprocessed chips, is caught. The volume of waste is decreased eight times by briquetting, and so the transport and storage are cheaper.
Optional accessories
- Chips vibrating sorter
- Screw or chain conveyors of material
- Collection tray for the cooling liquid pressed out, with a pump
- Control system of the briquetting press for the control of conveyors on the basis of signals from the sensors of the material level in the hopper
- Hydraulic oil for ambient temperatures below + 5 °C
Optional hoppers
